Compare 3 Different Forms of Detox Supplements

When is the best time to detox? I think it can be done anytime! However, the festive season is just around the corner, which means you’ll soon be indulging in Christmas treats and New Year’s drinks. Now is the time to think about improving your liver and digestive health in preparation for carnival season! Detoxing is also a good idea at the end of the year to start the new year in a healthier state.

To compare the differences between powder, liquid, and tablet detox supplements, I tried FOODOLOGY’s Coleology Tea, grn+’s Pink 3 Days Season 2, and grn+’s Pink Slim Balance & Biotin, taking each detox supplement for a week. Find out which version works best for detoxifying my body and which version is my favorite!

powder:
FOODOLOGY Barley Tea
what is it?
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and MFDS (Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) certified beverage powder, 15 bags per box. Each bag contains 120g of pink powder (8,000g total) containing 500mg of coix seed extract (contains fluocinolone to reduce body fat), 150mg of ginkgo leaf extract (to improve blood circulation) and the prebiotic fruit extract Sugar (FOS) (promotes gut health). The tea is also fortified with nutrients such as various amino acids and vitamin C to enhance immune function and other body functions. It has a sweet pomegranate flavor. It’s important to note that it contains trace amounts of caffeine from coffee bean extract.

How to take
Take one sachet per day, mix the powder with 300-500ml of cold water. FOODOLOGY is also available in 500 ml BPA-free clear plastic bottles with graduated markings that can withstand -30°C to 100°C.

My point of view
Although the drink powder is supposed to have a pomegranate flavor, I found it a bit bitter, which may be due to natural herbal ingredients like coix seed and ginkgo. The bitter taste seems to come from dark sediment in the drink. My advice is to mix the recommended amount of water with the powder packet and shake well before drinking so no sediment remains. Another suggestion is to mix the powder packets with a sweet drink like soda or yogurt to neutralize the bitter taste. The powder dissolves well in cold water.

One of the reasons I chose this product is that I also bought the 500ml bottle of FOODOLOGY, which has a metallic red cap to make the red detox drink look even more festive. Just the sight of it cheered me up and made me drink more water. Coleology Tea works quite well as a laxative – the effects won’t be noticeable until the third or fourth day, so be patient. Bowel movements are painless and natural. Although my weight often fluctuates, I lost about a pound in the week I tried Colealogy Tea.

FOODOLOGY also offers Coleology Weight Loss Tablets and Coleology Weight Loss Jelly. The two products have different ingredients and therefore different benefits, but both can help with weight control and increase intestinal motility.

grn+’s 3 Days in Pink Season 2
what is it?
The pack contains three GMP and MFDS certified 100ml pink bottles. The drink contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA) from Garcinia Cambogia, which inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates into fat, thereby helping regulate body weight. Nutrients fortified in the drink include niacin (vitamin B3) and riboflavin (vitamin B2), which increase energy levels and metabolism. It also contains fructooligosaccharides and prune concentrate to support digestive health. The drink is infused with red grape concentrate, giving it a sweet and sour grape flavor.

How to take
Take one bottle a day for three days.

My point of view
Of the three nutritional supplements, this liquid drink from grn+ is the tastiest – in fact, I can’t get enough of it! The combination of red grapes, prunes and sorbitol makes it taste like natural juice concentrate. It is also very convenient to drink. The downside is that it also works like prune juice – three or four hours after drinking the drink, I have sudden, violent bowel movements. If you’re in a meeting, this might be embarrassing! It definitely works like a laxative, so I recommend drinking it at home and allowing time to prepare for its after effects.

what is it?
Pink Slim Balance & Biotin contains 90 almond-colored tablets in a pink and white pill-like packaging, also from grn+ and certified by GMP, MFDS and KHSA (Korean Health Functional Food Association). Each 900 mg tablet contains 750 mg of HCA, which inhibits the conversion of carbohydrates to fat, and 3,333% of the recommended daily value of biotin (vitamin B7), which helps enzymes break down amino acids, fats and carbohydrates in food . Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally excreted from the body if consumed in excess. Other nutrients fortified in the tablets include vitamins B1, B2, B5 and B6 to support health.
